Hello there Olga! I wanted
to know if you still keep in touch with Japanese punk band Lolita No.18
or with Masayo (vo.)? They're having their first tour here in America
for the first time since 1997 I believe! When are YOU coming down to America?
Particularly Los Angeles, California? I believe you're a tad overdue for
a visit! Take care and have a great 2011! Catherine
Hi
there Catherine! I haven’t spoken with Lolita No.18 or Masayo
for a few years now to be honest! I know Masayo attended our show in
Shibuya,Tokyo last time we were there. Wish them good luck for the USA
dates if you see them there, and yes we are well overdue a visit! Hope
it happens soon! Hey Olga, I'm a huge fan of you guys, but all your tours seem to be in far off places! When you going to play in Sunderland? Also if you do will you sign my guitar haha? Toy Dolls is the reason I started playing it! Emma x |
Hi! My friend, aged of 34, is keen on your music. For his birthday I wanted to find a poster of your band, but unfortunately I begin to think that in France it's impossible to find... so I said to myself that perhaps you would sent me one... in the event of that hudge suprise, Marine de Laforcade Hi
Marine, nice to hear your friend is keen! Unfortunately we don't have
posters here either! I guess its best to wait till we tour France again,
there will plenty around at that time! Hi Olga! I have only one question: Why you never come in Canada (Québec) for a show? It's one of my dream. I Have 33 years old and since 18 years listen The Toy Dolls. Please, come in!!! Sorry if my english is bad. Im a french guy. But i want a answer. Thank you |
Hi Olga, I apologize if this was addressed in a previous section, but I flipped through for a while back and didn't catch anything having to do with it specifiacally. I first became introduced to you guys when you opened for the Bouncing Souls in Irving Plaza in 97, I was instantly hooked. Fortunately for me, in a year or so you came back to NY headlining your own two nights at CBGB's (R.I.P.), and I had experienced my first and last two Toy Dolls shows. By then I had had the opportunity to buy most of your CDs, and had what was and still is one of the (if not the) best times I've ever had at a show, both nights. Sadly though, as far as I can tell you guys haven't come back to the US East coast since then. I was wondering if you had any plans to come back in the near future. I guess I don't really need an answer, just want you to know that there are fans here hoping to see you again. If you do play here I'm sure it'll pop up on my radar and I'll have my answer. Keep up the great work Olga, keep putting smiles on faces! Mike Mike
Hey, Yeah I remember those two hot nights at CBGBs! Loved it! We will
get back to the East Coast at some point!! Thanks for your nice message. Hey olga I've been a big toy dolls fan since 2003 unfortunately I live in the us so I haven't got to see you play. Anyways I desparatly need your help! What sunglasses are those that you were wearing in the nellie the elephant music video and others? The big white and black square ones. I've been looking for a pair of those literally for 7 years and I haven't had anyluck finding them Anywhere or even finding the name of em. If you could please tell me what there called or tell me where I can find them that will be so great! Thanks so much! Hey!
Those big black and white glasses went missing years ago unfortunately,
my mate Neil gave me them around 1977! I saw Mr Bean once wearing some,
but I have no idea where to get them! Let me know if you find any! Hey! This is Bill. I asked a question a few months ago and you never answered it. To be honest I can't remember what I asked but my feelings were a bit hurt. On top of that you never play in America! I can tell you this, I'm crying on the inside. I have been a fan for a few years. I discovered the Toy Dolls through a internet radio thing and have ben hooked ever since. Thats actually how I found your buddies the Dickies. Any way, I was wondering what advice do you have for up and coming guitar players. I play bass but bought a telecaster (Because of you and Joe Strummer!) and feel kinda lost. Also are there any new bands that you dig? Like Gaslight Anthem? Thanks for the music! Bill Bill
Hey! I am so sorry if your question got misplaced somehow! Mmm, difficult
one, just toss a coin, decide on the bass or guitar, them stick to it,
don't change your mind for whatever reason. And, most importantly ENJOY
it! Theres loadsa great DVDs and books for teaching now, experiment
with them till you find the one you like. I know Rick Parfitt from Status
Quo has a great guitar teaching DVD, and he’s a Telecaster player!
Never really heard many new bands to be honest! Gonna have to make an
effort to listen! Would love to see you in the UK, when are you performing? I really need the workout of dancing to Olga - I can jitterbug with the rest and don;t put a foot wrong in einer kleiner knachtmusic or sabre dance!! Best regards Niki Hi
Niki Not sure when the next UK dates are just yet! Still got to finish
writing the next album n’ stuff. Good to know you can do the dances
though! Hi
David I guess you can get the mp3 on I Tunes, its on the Anniversary
Anthems album. Not so many people ask about Magaluf, and I think its
one of the best songs I’ve written! Ha! Guess I am wrong again..!? Alloha Mr Olga-Man! One late night, after too much booze, I went home to a friend for a good night sleep. He put on a VHS, the Toy Dolls Live In Japan, and we played the best we could, all night long, trying to follow the video. He on guitar, me on bass and vokal (Yup Im splendid at vokal at that hours). His girfriend sure did not like it, but what the heck, thats not the point. We had a wonderful night, as always with the Olga-man-crew, and our fingers looked like hell the next morning. Thanks. But mr Olga, why did you shout alligator all night long, and can you please, please, give this one out on dvd, so that normal people like me also can watch it? In advance, patient waiting for a gig, in Norway (Hint, hint), Arigato, Mr Even-man Mr
Even-Man Hello! That video was released by Toys Factory in Japan, we
don't own the rights unfortunately, however, it may actually be available
on DVD! I will check around, let me know if you have any luck finding
it. We will be back in Norway at some point! |
